From Cuba to Tibet is a refreshing novel about the life of a courageous woman, Adolfina Olleres. The historical context of the book takes us back to the late forties—the time of India’s independence, the expansionist ambitions of China towards Tibet; and pre-revolution Cuba to the present. Love is defined as broad and universal, alluding to the primordial relationship as well as purely carnal experiences. The book also deals with maternal love, at the core of a family of women with great solidarity, as well as the unshakable friendship between sisters and friends.
